The London Fields Brewery: Exploring the craft of beers

Where: The London Fields Brewery, Hackney
How much: Prices vary between £12 and £28 for the tour

Situated under the railway arches of the station, it’s a case of blink and you will miss The London Fields Brewery.

Specialising in craft beers, it’s relatively new, with it being opened in 2011 in Hackney.

The tour consists of 30 minutes in the brewery and some beer tasting. During the tour I learnt about hops and grains and how different beers have different tastes. Whilst during the beer tasting, held in the bar next door to the brewery, I tasted what the difference between is keg and cask beers (didn’t realise there was a difference!)  I was able to try three different beers and chatted with other people on the tour, many of whom had come all over London to visit.

It is not a large brewery; it is worth visiting if you have ever wondered where your beer comes from and how it is made.

The taproom next door also has food and bar snacks with a range of beers from the brewery as well as wines and coffees. Details can be found here.
